The American Institute of Chemical Engineers, AIChE, was founded in 1908. AIChE is a professional association of more than 50,000 members that provides leadership in advancing the chemical engineering profession. AIChE National is divided into two main groups: Professionals and Students. The groups are divided into 9 regions for the local professional chapters and student chapters.

Professional and student chapters in Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming belong to the AIChE Rocky Mountain Region. Hundreds of undergraduate and graduate student members participate in Chapter and Club activities at 13 chemical engineering schools. Members participate in local, regional and national activities that provide opportunities for professional growth, motivation, recognition, networking, and fun!
